Sergei Shoigu, Russia's Security Council secretary, held a pivotal meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, as per Friday reports from Russia's TASS state news agency.
Prior to this, Shoigu, who once served as Russia's defense minister, engaged in discussions with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Interfax, another Russian news outlet, noted that Shoigu was in China on behalf of President Vladimir Putin, emphasizing the countries' aligned stances on numerous international topics.
The meetings underscore a deepening of the strategic relationship between Moscow and Beijing, as they continue to present a united front on global issues.
