Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra is at the center of a political storm after alleged defamatory remarks against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde led to the vandalism of a Mumbai studio. The CPI(M) has condemned the harassment, emphasizing that mob violence is prevalent under BJP-led alliances.

The Left party highlighted that both legal actions and physical threats have been directed at Kamra, signifying a broader disregard for freedom of speech. Parts of the studio where Kamra performed have been reportedly demolished by municipal authorities, further escalating tensions.

On Sunday night, Shiv Sena members reportedly vandalized the Habitat Comedy Club in Mumbai, where Kamra's controversial show was recorded. An FIR was filed against the comedian for his critical remarks, which allegedly labeled Shinde a 'gaddar' or traitor.
