In a press conference on Thursday, the ruling BJP in Odisha sharply criticized opposition parties BJD and Congress for disrupting Assembly proceedings. BJP Chief Manmohan Samal accused them of lowering the dignity of the Assembly by engaging in unruly conduct.
Samal highlighted that such behavior is unacceptable from responsible opposition parties and accused them of improperly treating the female Speaker of the Assembly. He claimed the disruptions signify a short-term strategy by the opposition that ultimately disservices public interest and state welfare.
The criticism follows Speaker Surama Padhy's decision to suspend 14 Congress MLAs for indiscipline. Samal urged the opposition to participate in constructive dialogue instead of opposing government initiatives without valid reasons, emphasizing the need for meaningful discussions for Odisha's development.
