The Congress party in Karnataka finds itself embroiled in controversy after allegedly sharing a social media post that showed a map with Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan. This prompted a swift backlash from the opposition BJP, escalating political tensions in the region.
The post, which appeared on the platform 'X' and was later removed by Congress, targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration for failing to halt an IMF loan to Pakistan. The disbursement, approved on May 9, comes amid heightened conflict between India and Pakistan.
Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar labeled the incident a result of a 'small mistake' and confirmed the responsible individuals have been dismissed. Opposition leader R Ashoka accused Congress of harboring sympathies for Pakistan, further fueling the controversy.
