Trump Blames AT&T for Faith Leaders Call Disruption
President Trump criticized AT&T for issues during a conference call with faith leaders, although AT&T's analysis indicated their network was not at fault. Trump hinted at possibly switching carriers for future calls. The incident comes amid Trump's previous critiques of the company, which once owned CNN.
U.S. President Donald Trump attributed technical difficulties during a conference call with faith leaders to AT&T, sparking a blame game between the administration and the wireless provider. Despite Trump's critiques on social media, AT&T maintained that the problem did not stem from its network.
The call, intended for a nationwide audience of religious leaders, encountered disruptions, prompting Trump to suggest the possibility of using a different carrier for future communications. This was the second such interruption cited by the president, who urged AT&T's leadership to address the issue.
The spat follows a history of tension between Trump and AT&T, particularly during his first term, when he criticized the company for its ownership of CNN. Recently, Trump's business ventures include launching 'Trump Mobile.' AT&T shares saw a brief dip following Trump's comments.
