Digital Surge: Election Commission Scales New Heights in Voter Enumeration
The Election Commission has nearly completed the digitization of enumeration forms in the first stage of their Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls across nine states and three union territories. With deadlines extended to December 11, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and Assam prompt special revision actions.

The Election Commission reported on Friday that a significant milestone has been achieved with over 49 crore enumeration forms, equating to nearly 97% of forms, digitized in the first phase of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. This impactful task encompassed nine states and three union territories.
In the daily Special Intensive Revision (SIR) bulletin, officials confirmed that 99.90% of electors have received their forms; this covers 50.92 crore of the predicted 51 crore electorate. Enumeration form submissions have now been extended to a deadline of December 11.
This comprehensive enumeration effort includes states such as Chhattisgarh, Kerala, West Bengal, and union territories like Puducherry. Notably, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and West Bengal are preparing for 2026 polls, prompting focused voter list revisions, which are also anticipated in Assam.
