Congress MP Manickam Tagore has raised an urgent alarm about the escalating air pollution crisis in Delhi, urging the government to adopt a Beijing-style, time-bound clean air plan.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha during Zero Hour, Tagore accused the government of inadequately enforcing regulations and lacking accountability as residents continue to breathe toxic air. He cited Beijing's success in drastically reducing pollution through strict deadlines and electrifying the transport system.
Highlighting this as a human crisis, Tagore demanded immediate action, including stricter penalties for violators and transitioning public buses to electric. He asserted that no nation can claim to be developed while its people choke on polluted air.
