The Rajasthan government on Sunday ordered a high-level investigation into allegations of corruption involving three legislators accused of demanding commissions from MLA funds. This development has led both BJP and Congress to issue notices, demanding explanations within a short time frame.
The state's decision follows a sting operation by a newspaper, implicating BJP's Revantram Danga, Congress's Anita Jatav, and independent MLA Ritu Banawat. The allegations claim they were charging commissions for sanctioning money from the MLA Local Area Development (LAD) fund.
In response, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma reinforced the administration's commitment to a zero-tolerance approach to corruption, stating that no official, regardless of influence, would be spared if found guilty. As part of these efforts, the accounts of the implicated leaders have been frozen pending further investigation.
