Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah communicated with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar regarding the intensifying situation in Iran. Abdullah was assured that steps are being taken to ensure the safety of Jammu and Kashmir students in Iran amid growing unrest.

The Indian government has advised all its nationals in Iran to leave and avoid traveling there, citing concerns over potential US military interventions following Iran's aggressive crackdown on nationwide protests.

As tensions escalate—marked by over 2,500 fatalities from protests—Indian citizens, including students, pilgrims, and business persons, are urged by the Indian embassy in Tehran to evacuate using available transport means and ensure their travel documents are ready.
