CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan on Thursday lambasted former Kottarakkara MLA Aisha Potty for her recent switch to the Congress, branding her as an opportunist swayed by a thirst for power.
Potty, who served three consecutive terms in the Kerala Assembly, recently abandoned CPI(M) for Congress, citing neglect and misalignment with the party's positions as reasons for her decision.
Govindan criticized Potty's inactive party involvement and alleged that Congress seeks political surprises by targeting vulnerable individuals. He dismissed any potential impact of such moves in the region.
