In a bold declaration, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Thursday unveiled her party's plan to contest all elections across India independently, foregoing alliances. This strategy will be in place for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections as well, emphasizing a bid for a complete majority.

Speaking on her 70th birthday in Lucknow, Mayawati reinforced that it was pertinent for the BSP to partake in all electoral contests solo and not align with any party. She left room for potential alliances only if assured of significant vote transfers, specifically mentioning upper caste votes as a deciding factor.

Her statement also included criticism of electronic voting machines and the perceived injustices faced by various communities under previous governments. Despite these challenges, she expressed confidence in the BSP's ability to secure a fifth term in Uttar Pradesh, citing a growing public inclination towards the party.
