Karnataka's Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, and IT/BT, Priyank Kharge, launched a stinging critique of the BJP, citing a leadership crisis following the unsuccessful Padyatra protest in Ballari. Kharge highlighted what he viewed as the BJP's inability to lead effectively, saying, "What began as a Padyatra fizzled out even before it started." He stressed that the event was indicative of the state unit's lack of confidence in their leadership.

Kharge also commented on the BJP's legislative performance, noting the party's disjointed behavior in the Assembly. "Their lack of leadership is apparent in the Assembly, where half of them fall in the well, and the other half stage a walkout," he remarked, describing the BJP's activities as a "personal fight rather than a fight for the people." He further dismissed speculations about possible changes in Congress leadership following Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's visit to Delhi.

Addressing economic concerns, Kharge responded to Rahul Gandhi's remarks about India's economy, urging focus on economic data over political statements. He claimed the BJP failed major initiatives like Make in India and criticized India's trade policies with the U.S. He accused the BJP of prioritizing symbolic acts over addressing unemployment. Kharge also condemned derogatory remarks by leaders from both parties, urging propriety.
