In a significant political move, former AIADMK MLA from the Alandur constituency, VNP Venkataraman, formally joined the DMK. The announcement came from the DMK headquarters, Anna Arivalayam in Chennai, with party president MK Stalin in attendance. This progression occurs amidst ongoing internal rifts within AIADMK, despite senior leaders emphasising a façade of unity.

At the same time, veteran AIADMK leader SP Velumani was vocal about the party's cohesion and determination to return to governance in Tamil Nadu. Speaking at Coimbatore Airport, Velumani dismissed rumours of internal power struggles, underscoring that AIADMK members are dedicated to fortifying their ranks and focused on electoral success.

Velumani confidently stated, "AIADMK is our lifeline, and leaders are not motivated by personal gain." He affirmed Edappadi K Palaniswami’s position as General Secretary, while also critiquing media narratives that paint a different internal party scenario. Furthermore, Velumani called upon the government to address the pressing issues of crime and drug abuse in the state, iterating AIADMK’s enduring legacy and resilience.
