Diplomatic Delays: No Talks Scheduled Between Trump and Putin
Currently, there are no plans for a telephone call between U.S. President Trump and Russian President Putin. Mediators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner maintain contacts with Russia and Ukraine, but efforts have stalled since February following U.S. and Israeli military actions against Iran. Future visit dates remain unset.
U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin remain out of contact, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Tuesday. Despite ongoing diplomatic communications, American negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have been unable to arrange a call between the two leaders.
Witkoff and Kushner have been at the forefront of peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. However, these efforts lost momentum in February after military interventions by the United States and Israel in Iran complicated the dialogue.
Kremlin's Peskov also stated that no fixed dates are available for the next visit to Russia by the negotiators, leaving the assessment of diplomatic progress unresolved.
