The United Nations human rights chief expressed approval on Monday regarding the newly announced peace agreement between the United States and Iran, emphasizing the need for all regional actors to exhibit maximum restraint.

Volker Tuerk, the human rights chief, stated, “I welcome the announcement that the United States and Iran have agreed on a peace deal that provides for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and a framework for further negotiations.”

Tuerk highlighted the fragile nature of the current moment, urging all parties to swiftly and sincerely implement the agreement reached, underscoring the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region.
