Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Greenlights Land Transfer for Agra Metro Rail

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has sanctioned the transfer of land required for the initial two phases of the Agra Metro Rail Project. This move marks a significant step forward in advancing the state's infrastructure ambitions.
Speaking to the press, State Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna highlighted the cabinet's decision to transfer 8,684.68 square meters of land from the Horticulture and Food Processing Department to the Housing and Urban Planning Department at a nominal cost. This land will be utilized for the first corridor of the metro rail project, reinforcing the commitment to expanding urban mobility.
Additionally, the cabinet approved the allocation of 20,753 square meters of land from the Home Department for the project's second corridor. Both land sections are earmarked for a 90-year lease, with provisions for renewal every 30 years, underscoring a long-term vision for Agra's metro infrastructure.
