A fire incident led to the destruction of 28 electricity meters at a residential building in Thane, Maharashtra, as confirmed by officials today. The blaze erupted on the ground floor of building number 6, Shubharambh Society, in the city's Manpada area.
According to Yasin Tadvi, chief of the disaster management cell at Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), the emergency services received an alert about the fire at around 9.15 am. Firefighters, along with personnel from Maharashtra Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL), promptly arrived with a fire engine to tackle the situation.
The fire, which is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, was swiftly brought under control. Tadvi assured that no casualties or injuries were reported, and the situation is now stable. An investigation into the exact cause is underway.
