The administration of Andaman and Nicobar Islands has issued a significant warning for ports owing to an intensifying cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal, officials revealed.
A 'Local Cautionary Signal-3' warning is in effect, anticipating heavy rainfall through Monday.
"Equipped with advanced facilities and quick response teams, we urge public adherence to advisories and caution among tourists," stated a senior official from the Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS). Public advisories have prompted fishermen and small vessels to stay ashore till Monday, covering South Andaman, North and Middle Andaman, and Nicobar districts.
Top priority is the safety of passengers and vessels, with arrangements encouraging commuters to adjust travel plans and reduce risk.
The IMD forecasts severe weather, with rains (7-11 cm), thunderstorms, and winds (30-40 kmph), complicating marine conditions.
