The Commission for Air Quality Management has refuted claims circulating in the media that Delhi-NCR has escalated to Stage-IV of the Graded Response Action Plan. Officials clarified on Tuesday that these reports are inaccurate.

Contrary to the circulated news, Stage-III, not Stage-IV, of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) is presently active throughout the NCR region, according to the CAQM. The misinformation was reportedly shared by several news outlets and digital platforms.

The commission advised stakeholders and the public to rely exclusively on its official statements. The current Stage-III measures are enforced when the Air Quality Index (AQI) hits the 'severe' category, impinging various curbs to mitigate pollution until more restrictive Stage-IV measures are warranted.
