Tragedy Strikes: Wild Elephant Rampage in Jharkhand's Giridih

A tragic encounter with a wild elephant in Jharkhand's Giridih district led to the death of two individuals and left another injured on Monday morning, according to a forest official.
The incident unfolded in Gadi village, where the victims, including two women, were working in a field when they were attacked by the elephant. One person succumbed at the scene, while two women were rushed to the hospital. Tragically, one of the women later died during treatment, revealed Giridih Divisional Forest Officer (East) Manish Kumar Tiwari.
Officials highlighted that elephant herds have been active in the Giridih area, with a similar fatality occurring on November 22. The deceased were identified as Shanti Devi, aged 70, and Bodhi Pandit, aged 52. Their families received immediate relief, with promises of further compensation from the local authorities.
