In the early hours of Saturday, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake jolted Gujarat's Kutch district, creating a wave of panic among local residents. Despite the scare, no casualties or property damage were reported, authorities confirmed.

The Gandhinagar-based Institute of Seismological Research (ISR) stated that the earthquake's epicenter was located approximately 55 km north-northeast of Khavda. This region, already known for its high seismic risk, frequently experiences tremors of varying magnitudes.

Kutch's seismic vulnerability is highlighted by the catastrophic earthquake of January 26, 2001, which was one of the largest and most destructive in India's history, resulting in the loss of 13,800 lives and extensive damage.
