At the ISTAF Indoor meet in Berlin, Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis achieved a new meeting record with a jump of 6.10 meters. This remarkable feat marked his return to competition following a winter hiatus.
Despite two ambitious attempts, Duplantis could not surpass his standing world outdoor record. The 25-year-old athlete previously set a 6.26-meter mark in Poland last August, having remarkably improved his outdoor record three times last year. His latest jump is the highest indoor mark in the current year.
The Berlin event, held at a packed 12,000-capacity arena, saw Duplantis energized by the roaring support of fans. Alongside him, Emmanouíl Karalís thrilled audiences by setting a new Greek record with a 5.94-meter jump.
