Tiger Woods, co-founder of the tech-driven indoor golf league TGL, will miss a match next week, the league announced Friday. The revelation comes as Woods considers participating in the upcoming Cognizant Classic, a PGA Tour event in his hometown of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Woods, who recently withdrew from the Genesis Invitational following his mother's passing, has been the star attraction in TGL's early matches. His decision to miss the upcoming game gives him a chance to commit to the Cognizant Classic by the 5 p.m. ET deadline on Friday.

Having played in TGL's first three matches, Woods' absence leaves Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, and Tom Kim to face off against Min Woo Lee, Shane Lowry, and Wyndham Clark. Of the nine matches so far, three have peaked at 1.1 million viewers, making Woods' scheduled return in March highly anticipated.
