The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has had its suspension lifted by the Sports Ministry, as announced by former chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who claims that justice has prevailed against those he calls conspirators.
The suspension, imposed shortly after WFI's December elections due to misgovernance, has been rescinded following significant reforms such as relocating its office away from Singh's premises. This development follows serious allegations by top wrestlers of Singh's sexual misconduct, which led to a protest and ongoing legal case.
Despite the controversy, Singh's ally Sanjay Singh later secured the election, and with United World Wrestling's (UWW) faith restored, Indian wrestling can now participate internationally again. Singh emphasizes the need for fair trials and training opportunities to boost the sport's progress.
