Norwegian Ski Jumpers Suspended Amid Jumpsuit Controversy
Several Norwegian ski jumpers, including Robert Johansson, Robin Pedersen, and Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal, have been suspended due to manipulated jumpsuits. Their suspension follows similar action against Marius Lindvik and Johann Andre Forfang. The issue arose after modifications were made to the athletes' equipment without their knowledge.
The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has suspended Norwegian ski jumpers Robert Johansson, Robin Pedersen, and Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal due to tampered jumpsuits. Their suspension comes shortly after a similar action was taken against Marius Lindvik and Johann Andre Forfang, and three team officials.
The controversy unfolded during the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim, where it was revealed that national team coach Magnus Brevik and equipment manager Adrian Livelten had modified the jumpsuits. Both Brevik and Livelten have since apologized for their actions, stating that the athletes were unaware of the tampering.
While the FIS found no issues with jumpsuits used by the women's team and the Nordic Combined teams, the men's equipment prompted further suspicions, culminating in the athletes' suspension from FIS events and those organized by a National Ski Association.
