The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the match officials for the upcoming Women's Cricket World Cup semi-finals this week. The competition is reaching its climax as Guwahati prepares to host the first semi-final featuring England and South Africa on Wednesday. The second semi-final, staged at Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium, will see host nation India take on defending champions Australia on Thursday.
Umpires Eloise Sheridan and Jacquline Williams have been assigned the task of officiating the high-stakes England and South Africa match-up. Sheridan has previously overseen both teams during the group stages, including England's dominant 10-wicket victory over South Africa earlier this month. Williams, who also officiated matches involving both sides, witnessed South Africa's significant wins against India and Bangladesh, as well as participating in England's victories and defeats. Joining the officiating team, Vrinda Rathi takes the role of the third umpire, Claire Polosak serves as the fourth, and GS Lakshmi has been appointed match referee.
For the second semi-final featuring India and Australia, the ICC has appointed Lauren Agenbag and Sue Redfern as the on-field umpires. Agenbag has experience with India's matches, notably against Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Redfern officiated during Australia's record-breaking pursuit of a 331-run target against India. Kim Cotton and Nimali Perera will support as the third and fourth umpires, with Michell Pereira as match referee. England and South Africa secured their berths after a compelling series of performances, ranking second and third respectively, while India claimed its spot with a decisive victory over New Zealand.
