A team from the International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to arrive in Dhaka this Saturday to discuss Bangladesh's security concerns regarding their participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup in India. The primary focus will be on alleviating these concerns as changing the venue appears impractical.
Bangladesh has raised issues with the ICC regarding scheduled matches in Kolkata and Mumbai, citing potential threats to players. The concern escalated after Mustafizur Rahman was dropped from his IPL team, the Kolkata Knight Riders, following a directive from the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
Despite Bangladesh's suggestions for alternative venues, the ICC maintains that the venue cannot be changed based on hypothetical threats. They aim to assure Bangladesh about the comprehensive security measures planned for the World Cup.
