Google announced its Market Access Program on Thursday, targeting startups seeking entry into international markets. This initiative is complemented by new enhancements to the Gemma open model family, as Google continues to invest significantly in India's AI infrastructure, including a USD 15-billion commitment made last year for an AI hub in Andhra Pradesh.
The programs lay a powerful foundation with 1 gigawatt of green energy, supporting Indian startups with high-performance computing needs while utilizing Google's cutting-edge AI technology. Both the Market Access Program and updated Gemma models aim to bolster startups ready to scale globally, according to the tech giant.
At the launch event, Google's Indian Country Manager, Preeti Lobana, highlighted how AI is extending beyond research contexts into practical applications across diverse sectors. She emphasized the role of AI startups transitioning experimental models into viable marketable products.
