At least 69 drones were destroyed in the assault, which also damaged infrastructure and forced evacuations. The strikes coincide with ongoing peace discussions between the U.S. and Ukraine.
On Tuesday, Ukraine executed one of its most substantial drone operations against Moscow, according to local authorities, resulting in at least one fatality, fires, and disrupted transport services. Reports indicate that Moscow and its surrounding areas were targeted in the early morning hours, sparking panic and infrastructure damage.
Moscow's Region Governor, Andrei Vorobyov, confirmed the attack via the Telegram app, revealing damages in several city districts. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that 69 drones were neutralized, preventing further devastation. The strikes compelled Moscow's airports to suspend operations due to safety concerns.
In addition, railway systems suffered damage, echoing the broader conflict as peace talks between U.S. and Ukrainian representatives are set to commence in Saudi Arabia.
