The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has released its preliminary findings on the crash involving Redbird Flight Training Academy's trainer aircraft that occurred in December 2025. Both the instructor and trainee suffered injuries during this incident.

The TECNAM P-Mentor aircraft, which took off from Suktara Airfield in Madhya Pradesh, encountered trouble during its final approach. As the runway came into view, the instructor directed the trainee pilot to increase engine power. However, the trainee responded that the power was already at approximately 75 per cent.

Both the instructor and trainee detected a reduction in RPM, prompting the instructor to assume control. An emergency landing was initiated, but the aircraft clipped a power cable and crash-landed in a nearby field. The AAIB's report outlined that further analyses, including engine health evaluation and fuel sample tests, are being conducted.
