India's tribal communities have seen marked improvements in their quality of life, as reported in recent government data. Notable enhancements are seen in education and health sectors, reflecting the government's commitment to socio-economic development policies.
According to Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Durgadas Uikey, tribal student enrolment figures have shown significant growth at various educational levels over the decade. However, slight declines have been observed in recent years.
Health indicators, including the infant mortality rate and institutional delivery rate, have improved significantly among the tribal population. Furthermore, their monthly per capita consumption expenditure has seen a substantial increase, despite persistent gaps in some development indicators.
