West Bengal Schools Adjust Schedules Amid India-Pakistan Conflict

Several private schools in West Bengal have advanced their summer vacations following Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's request due to India-Pakistan tensions. Schools such as St Xavier's and Delhi Public School have shifted holiday dates, while others maintain pre-planned calendars. State-run schools commenced vacations earlier due to heat.

Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, several private schools in West Bengal have decided to advance their summer vacation dates following a request by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The move aims to mitigate potential security concerns arising from the geopolitical situation.

Among the institutions making the shift are St Xavier's Institution-Sodpure, Julien Day School, and Delhi Public School Ruby Park. These schools have opted to start holidays from Friday, although their academic calendars originally planned for classes to continue until mid-May.

While many schools responded promptly to the Chief Minister's appeal, others, like Lakshmipat Singhania Academy and B.D. Memorial International School-Narendrapur, maintain their pre-set schedules, asserting that holiday plans were made long before the recent developments. State-run and aided schools had already commenced vacations due to excessive heat conditions.
