The Ministry of Education officially announced on Monday that the duration of the Bachelor of Education (BEd) course will not be reverted to one year. Union Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary, made this clear in a response to a written query in the Lok Sabha.

Chaudhary explained that the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the relevant statutory authority, has no proposal on the table to alter the course's current duration. This announcement follows last year's consideration by the NCTE to potentially resume the one-year program, a decision influenced by the new National Education Policy (NEP).

The BEd course, which was previously reduced to accommodate longer study plans and align with newer educational standards, will continue with its current duration, as confirmed by the Ministry and the NCTE.
