Madhav National Park: A New Era for Madhya Pradesh's Wildlife

Madhya Pradesh is set to enhance its status as a leader in tiger conservation with the inauguration of its ninth tiger reserve, Madhav National Park, in Shivpuri district on Monday. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav officiated the event by releasing two tigers, increasing the park's tiger population to seven.
Yadav expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the establishment of this vital conservation site, which boosts the state's efforts in wildlife preservation and tourism. Madhav Tiger Reserve spans 37,523 hectares, contributing to Madhya Pradesh, which houses 785 tigers, holding the record for the highest number of tigers in India.
The park's development symbolizes a significant achievement for local wildlife conservation efforts. As part of the inauguration, Yadav also unveiled a 13-kilometre stone safety wall within the park. Madhya Pradesh continues to lead in tiger conservation, followed by Karnataka and Uttarakhand.
