Malayalam dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi announced her resignation from the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) on Tuesday, citing her disapproval of the organization's decision to reinstate actor Dileep. Her resignation follows Dileep's acquittal in the 2017 assault case.
Bhagyalakshmi criticized FEFKA's quick acceptance of the court's verdict, urging a wait for higher court rulings. FEFKA leaders, including secretary B Unnikrishnan, expressed their willingness to readmit Dileep, contingent upon his formal request.
While industry opinion differs, screenwriter Renji Panicker supports the verdict, asserting justice for the guilty. Dileep, acquitted alongside others including Sarath, condemns a purported conspiracy against him by police and media.
