Adani Power Set to Transform Bihar with $3 Billion Greenfield Project
Adani Power has secured a $3 billion contract to build and operate a 2,400 MW thermal power plant in Bihar, enhancing industrialization in the region. This greenfield project, to become functional in five years, will provide power to Bihar’s state utilities and generate substantial employment opportunities.

Adani Power announced that it has received a letter of intent from Bihar State Power Generation Company to initiate a massive $3 billion greenfield thermal power plant project in Bhagalpur District, Bihar. The power company anticipates an official award soon, and a subsequent Power Supply Agreement with state utilities.
The new facility will deliver 2,274 MW to North and South Bihar Power Distribution Companies. Adani Power outbid competitors in a stringent tender, winning with a final price of Rs 6.075 per KWh. The development is to take place under the Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate model.
S B Khyalia, Adani Power's CEO, stressed the strategic nature of the ultra-supercritical plant, citing its potential to advance industrial growth in Bihar through reliable, low-emission energy. The plant is also set to create thousands of jobs both during construction and operational phases.
