The YSRCP has raised concerns over a serious shortage of urea, urging the Andhra Pradesh government to obtain additional allocations from the Centre to support the state's farmers.
YSRCP leader MVS Nagi Reddy emphasized that farmers face long queues at various agricultural centers, contradicting claims by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu that the shortages are fabricated. He accused private dealers of exploiting farmers by forcing them to buy nano urea and pesticides.
Reddy also criticized the state's inaction in foreseeing the demand spike resulting from changing crop patterns and increased rainfall. Despite promises from the agriculture minister to favor agricultural cooperatives, the distribution plan has not been executed, leading to further distress.
