Naxion Energy is set to revolutionize India's energy storage market with a significant investment of Rs 200 crore by the end of December 2026. The company, specializing in sodium-ion batteries, plans to enhance manufacturing capacities by opening a new facility in Hyderabad.
To support its ambitious growth plan, the company intends to expand its workforce by 50%, enabling the production of sodium-ion battery packs tailored for mobility and energy storage needs. The decision aligns with increasing demand from OEMs and enterprise customers, as revealed by CEO Abishek Reddy in recent discussions with media.
Naxion Energy also introduced India's first sodium-ion-based energy storage systems, developed in Coimbatore. The innovative platform includes a battery, inverter, and solar MPPT, addressing the inefficiencies of traditional lead-acid batteries by offering longer cycle life and reduced costs. The storage systems promise a safer, maintenance-free alternative across various sectors, with models scaling from 3.5 kW to 10 kW.
