Churachandpur District Police have been awarded the Governor's Unit Citation for their exceptional work during 2025-2026. Officials noted the district police secured 150 arrests for violations ranging from the NDPS and Arms Acts to POCSO and UAPA offences, according to the governor's citation.

Anti-drug operations spearheaded by the team led to 40 significant seizures valued at Rs 123.6 crore, along with the demolition of 150 acres of unlawful poppy cultivation. Counter-insurgency maneuvers saw the retrieval of 285 firearms, bullets, explosives, and war-like equipment. Notably, the district's Cyber Cell successfully traced and retrieved 160 stolen mobile phones. Officials highlighted that effective policing slashed violence rates, facilitated unperturbed VVIP security, and strengthened community engagement.

Specially commended was 'Project Hin-Chi,' inaugurated in partnership with the Narcotics Control Bureau, under the supervision of the SP. This initiative aims to replace illegal poppy fields with lawful, high-yield cash crops, marking a strategic shift towards community engagement and socio-economic reform. Beginning in three vulnerable district areas, the project worked closely with village leaders and 127 farming families to aid their transition to sustainable agriculture. Resources such as 55,000 kg of ginger seeds, 450 kg of pea seeds, and 6,500 banana saplings were supplied, bolstered by a ₹28 lakh CSR grant from Segula Technologies.
