Karnataka is set for a healthcare transformation, with the government announcing plans for 24-hour service at all taluk hospitals and community health centers. Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao revealed this initiative, responding to issues highlighted in the Legislative Assembly.
The state intends to deploy two obstetricians, anaesthetists, and paediatricians, alongside a radiologist and a physician at each taluk hospital. This move aims to ensure round-the-clock care, reducing dependency on overloaded district hospitals.
The minister assured that recruitment is underway for MBBS doctors and specialists to fill existing vacancies, improving service delivery. The government also plans to hire nurses, lab technicians, and pharmacists on a contract basis to meet healthcare needs.
