Amid a swiftly transitioning global order, Vietnamese President To Lam emphasized the profound strategic alignment between Vietnam and India during his address at the Indian Council of World Affairs. In the 56th Sapru House Lecture, President Lam underscored the necessity of advancing bilateral ties to ensure regional stability.

With shifting power dynamics and multilateral institutions facing challenges, Lam asserted that Vietnam and India must bolster their partnership to maintain peace and security. He proposed five strategic directions, including enhancing mutual trust, broadening connectivity in pivotal sectors like logistics and digitalization, and fostering scientific and technological collaboration.

Additionally, President Lam advocated for strengthening people-to-people connections and championing a transparent, rules-based regional order. He praised India's role as a steadfast ally, affirming the potential for deepened collaboration to benefit both nations and contribute to global prosperity. His state visit to India solidified these commitments.
