Rajnath Singh's Indo-Pacific Tour: Strengthening Strategic Ties in Vietnam & South Korea

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh landed in Hanoi on Monday, marking the start of his two-nation tour to strengthen India's strategic and defence alliances in the Indo-Pacific region. He received a warm welcome from the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, along with Indian embassy officials.

This visit follows the state visit of Vietnam's Public Security Minister To Lam to New Delhi, highlighting the rising momentum in bilateral defence ties. The BrahMos supersonic missile is expected to be a focal point in their discussions, with both nations reviewing potential supply agreements.

In Vietnam, Rajnath Singh is set to meet his Vietnamese counterpart, with a broad agenda focusing on defence cooperation, military exchanges, and regional security issues. Post-Vietnam, he will travel to South Korea, emphasizing defence manufacturing and new collaborative initiatives. In South Korea, Singh's itinerary includes talks with officials, a business roundtable, and the inauguration of an Indian War Memorial.
