Romania Donates Patriot System to Ukraine, NATO Chief Applauds

NATO's Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Thursday welcomed Romania's decision to provide Ukraine with a Patriot air defense system. Romania's supreme defence council said earlier on Thursday that it would donate one of the country's two operational Patriot systems to Ukraine, responding to pleas from Kyiv to its allies for more air defence assistance.
Stoltenberg in an emailed statement said the "much needed Patriot system" would allow Ukraine to "better defend their airspace and their people from Russian aggression".
