Turkey aims to strengthen its relationship with the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) without compromising its commitments to NATO, Defence Minister Yasar Guler stated. In a written interview with Reuters, Guler affirmed that Turkey's top priority is to meet its NATO obligations and fortify ties with NATO allies.
Established in 2001 by Russia, China, and Central Asian countries, the SCO serves as a counterbalance to Western alliances, integrating security, political, and economic elements.
Guler stressed the importance of a prepared and robust NATO, indicating Turkey's focus on ensuring the alliance's readiness and fortitude amid shifting geopolitical landscapes.
