In the wake of a significant drug seizure from a factory near Bhopal, the Congress leveled serious allegations on Friday against a close associate of Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda, accusing him of being involved in the drug trade. The Congress questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence over the matter.
At a press conference, Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Jitendra Patwari alleged that instead of providing 2 crore jobs annually, PM Modi was responsible for creating 2 crore drug addicts each year. Patwari claimed that drug abuse has been on the rise, with a reported 40 crore people involved nationwide.
The recent seizure involved 907.09 kg of mephedrone valued at Rs 1,814 crore, with Gujarat ATS and the NCB collaborating on the raid. This discovery has heightened concerns about the drug situation in Madhya Pradesh, as leaders call for immediate government action.
