Authorities in Nepal lifted the curfew imposed in eastern Kathmandu following violent clashes. The situation, which saw pro-monarchy protesters face off against security forces, has shown signs of easing, according to officials.

On Friday, tensions flared as protesters attacked a political office, vandalized vehicles, and looted shops in Kathmandu's Tinkune area. The Army was called in after the death of two individuals during the clashes, including a TV cameraman.

Police reported the arrest of 105 individuals involved in the demonstrations, which demanded the reinstatement of the monarchy. Violent actions included the destruction of 14 buildings, attacks on media houses, and the torching of government and private vehicles.
