The Delhi High Court declined to provide interim relief to a candidate of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) PG, who claimed the counselling fees imposed by the Consortium of National Law Universities were exorbitant.
Justice Rajneesh Kumar Gupta has asked for a response from the consortium, Bar Council of India (BCI), University Grants Commission (UGC), and others by July 2.
The candidate's counsel argued that the upfront Rs 20,000 fee for each round was financially burdensome, having already paid Rs 30,000 for the initial round. They sought permission for the client to participate without additional payment, calling the fees discriminatory.
