The Maharashtra State Commission for Women, led by chairperson Rupali Chakankar, has raised serious allegations involving objectionable videos found on the mobile device of Pranjal Khewalkar, a political family member. The commission's concerns suggest potential human trafficking involvement, urging a detailed investigation.
This development follows a recent police raid in Pune, where Khewalkar, along with others, was apprehended. Evidence seized included suspected drugs and paraphernalia, fueling debates about illegal activities. Chakankar has requested that the probe extend to examine digital communications and financial dealings of the accused.
Amid these accusations, Eknath Khadse, a former BJP minister and father-in-law to one of the accused, contends that the allegations are baseless and politically motivated, stressing a lack of police advisement on the matter to his family.
