The Delhi High Court has confirmed the life sentence of a man convicted in a horrific gangrape case involving a minor. Despite arguments presented by the defense, Justices Prathiba M Singh and Rajneesh Kumar Gupta found the evidence undeniable.
Praveen, the appellant, was found guilty of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl alongside an accomplice in November 2018. The co-accused, however, evaded arrest and was subsequently reported dead.
The survivor's testimony, bolstered by medical evidence, was deemed substantial. The court overruled claims about the incident's location, emphasizing the minimal expectations from the young victim under such traumatic circumstances.
