In a tragic incident in Kramatorsk, two Ukrainian journalists, Olena Hubanova and Yevhen Karmazin, lost their lives due to a Russian drone strike. The attack, described as a war crime by Ukraine's human rights ombudsman, targeted the journalists while they were in a car at a petrol station.

The Donetsk region governor, Vadym Filashkin, confirmed that a costly Lancet drone was used in the strike, a model typically deployed against armored targets. Ukraine has initiated a war crime investigation, underscoring systemic attacks on civilians.

This latest incident raises to at least 20 the number of journalists killed in the conflict zone since Russia's invasion in February 2022. Earlier this month, a French photojournalist was similarly killed in eastern Ukraine, marking an alarming trend in the dangerous regions.
